Motivation to Lose Weight

If only motivation (including a motivation to lose weight) came easy to everyone, perhaps we all could be Mr. Universe, Bill Gates or anyone that we wanted to be.  Problem is, it does not.   Have you ever had this sudden interest in something, but stop short the moment you have to actually do it?  Are you not motivated when the sudden interest first excites you?  Is the idea of having a lean, ripped body not enough reason to compel you to actually do something
towards that goal?  Read on to find out how to get motivation to lose weight.

Set a goal.

Set a clear, definite goal. I want to lose weight this week won’t cut it.  I want to shed 5lbs. 10 days from now sounds much better.  You have to set realistic goal.  Losing 20lbs. in 5 days could just get you sick.  You have to do
your own due diligence to find out what is the healthy weight loss rate for yourself.  Consult your physician if you need to.

Set how much you want to shed with a realistic deadline.  How does this help?  Just imagine that you drive a car without knowing your destination.  You will reach somewhere, but is it the place where you want to end up?  Now find yourself a goal to work on.

Find a Role Model

You are not the first one on a quest to lose your weight.  Millions have done it before you and succeeded.  What you need to do now is to model them.  Find out what motivates them, their exercise routine and everything. A simple search on Google will usually get you to it.

Having a role model also helps you to believe.  Believe that it is doable and achievable. Having self-belief will help you to pull through when you are in doubt whether what you are doing is worthwhile.

Be Proud of Yourself

Acknowledge that you are taking the first step to change yourself.  You accept that something needs to be done, and you already started.  Many others that need to lose weight only stop short of worrying then keep doing what they always do.   Knowing that you are different and are taking initiative will make you feel good. And this always serves as good motivation to lose weight.

Motivation is not something that you can force yourself on to. What you
can do is make a habit out of the tips that I discussed above and to come.  Hopefully you make full use of them, and give yourself motivation to lose weight.
